Scott Miller has been in the Payroll, Human Resource, and Health & Welfare industry since the mid-90's and has held senior management positions at a fortune 1000 and a boutique consulting firm.  The first 10 years of his career have been focused on Sales, in particular architecting product and service solutions for some of the more prominent corporations in the US.  Following those years in Sales, Scott has been more operationally focused, running professional services organizations and product/program development.

Scott's technical aptitude and business acumen has positioned him as a go-to resource.  During his Solutions Consultant years, Scott wore many hats such as presenter, mentor, trainer, developer, and trend setter.  He would regularly be engaged to work on the more complex accounts.  When his employer wanted to expand its business into Human Resource Outsourcing (HRO), they tapped Scott to develop and manage the Solutions team.  This team consisted of product experts and solution architects for the company's entire product line including payroll, workforce management, human resources, talent management, and health and welfare.

After managing the HRO team for a few years, Scott moved into the Professional Services (PS) organization.  Here he managed over 50 custom developers.  These developers had project volume of 500-700 projects at any one time.  The projects represented the company’s primary client facing product and back-office gross-to-net payroll calculation engine.  Scott managed several major changes during his time running PS including revamping workflow methodology, adding a quality control team, and moving 25% of the team off-shore resulting in a 13% cost reduction.

After leaving the fortune 1000 company, Scott was hired to develop a technical services team within a boutique consulting firm that up to that point had focused solely on the functional aspects of payroll consulting.  Scott hired resources as well as took a hands-on approach to building the initial portfolio of project capabilities.  Once the team and infrastructure were functioning, Scott broadened his focus to look for other improvement opportunities.  He found one in the firm's Payroll Administrative Outsourcing business.  After identifying that the current model wasn't scalable and wasn't making profit targets, he redesigned the program from the ground up.  The changes were so drastic that all materials from support, sales, and legal documentation needed to be created from scratch.  In addition to a large portion of the content, Scott also developed a training program to educate the stakeholders on how to sell and support the new model.  The results were a well documented and scalable service that had a pricing model that supported profitability.

Scott has the ability to not only see the big picture, but also drill down and understand the detail levels as necessary.  This skill combined with his business and technical acumen, and ability to articulate a point, makes him a valuable asset in any organization.
